The inspiration for this project came from the book Heroínas negras brasileiras em 15 cordéis, by Jarid Arraes, which tells the stories of women through cordéis and poetry.
Each piece was published on a Wednesday (the original project name was Quartas Pretas) until November 20th, a date that reflects Black Consciousness in Brazil.

The stories were designed for mobile devices. This decision defined many aesthetic aspects, like the format of the illustrations and maps. The series was the most shared content on the Nexo Jornal between October and November. This project too served as the entry point for creating a new format: with concise illustrated stories.
