The challenge
Create an intuitive template system for 30+ editors and analysts while elevating the visual quality of JOTA's premium service, using Google Workspace as the main platform.

Templates overview: poor graphic practices made reading difficult. Editors and analysts were gradually trained in better design standards.

The context
JOTA is a media outlet focused on legal certainty, and the clients of its business service asked for content with more visual appeal, making dense political analysis more pleasant and accessible.

A common issue in the company is the complex nature of its services. Therefore, the challenge was to deeply understand the business to adapt - or if needed, create - a range of useful formats that could serve as strong output tools.
The work
Led the development of a comprehensive template system:
> Conducted user research with editors and analysts to understand pain points
> Created fail-safe designs to prevent common layout errors
> Implemented progressive training for the editorial team
> Developed personalized templates featuring analysts' headshots for stronger client relationships
> Built specialized formats for international coverage
> Established quality control processes for visual consistency
Process
The creation of templates is conducted in partnership with JOTA's editors and analysts. Each template is designed with a focus on simplicity of use, allowing professionals to make quick edits without compromising the aesthetics or structure of the content. To avoid common errors, such as margin invasion, we apply design tricks to ensure visual organization and consistency.

With the success of templates, new demands arise from contact between Editorial and Growth teams with the design team. One example is the personalized template featuring analysts' faces, which made stronger client relationships. This collaborative work also led to the creation of specialized templates, such as those for international coverage (Pela Janela).

The results
> Increased production speed while maintaining editorial quality

> Standardized visual language across all premium deliverables

> Improved client satisfaction with consistent positive feedback

> Enhanced brand recognition through visual cohesion

> Expanded template adoption across different content types
Business Impact
> Increased production agility that optimized editors' and analysts' time

> Visual standardization that strengthened JOTA's brand recognition
> Continuous positive feedback from clients, highlighting the graphic appeal of materials
> Growth in demand for new templates, contributing to format diversification
> Booster of JOTA's authority as a source of political intelligence that is visually attractive to decision-makers
